The California Highway 1 is one of the most thrilling roads I have taken. The 1 runs along the coast of California between Dana Point in the south to Leggett in the north. The Muir Woods are located off the 1 just north of San Francisco. I had the opportunity, a couple years back, to drive the highway. I took about two weeks leisurely making my way up the coast. Due to foul weather this trip ended just north of the Muir Woods but I was able to finish the rest of the California 1 the following summer. I would definitely recommend the trip to everyone. =)
