This photograph was taken in the amazing Fern Canyon located in the Redwoods of Northern California. It is by far one of the most beautiful spots I have been able to see.

No this isn't a State Park dedicated to film (that stuff you used to put in your cameras before memory cards). Kodachrome is located on the beautiful 12 Byway just East of Bryce Canyon. I just loved this old shack right outside the park.

Free Ice Water! X amount of miles to Wall Drug. Anyone that has traveled throughout the West has come across a sign or two for Wall Drug. This store began attracting customers during the depression with there billboards along many highways promising free ice water. The ice water is still free and Wall Drug is booming.

The Hubbell Trading Post is an authentic Navajo trading post that is still in business today. I loved the colors of the handmade blankets that were being sold within.

This was my first time to the "Jersey Shore." While it was beautiful, there were many different things about the the beaches compared to those hear in San Diego. Some of the things I loved, some were not so great.

Here is a lowdown on the beaches.

I Loved:
-the fences; these lined every beach.
-the umbrella vendors; the beach looked so adorable with matching umbrellas (although at times it was hard to figure out which one was yours)
-the water! the atlantic ocean is so warm. I never had to dread the awful "getting used to the freezing water" phase

Not So Much Love For:
-Paying; I had never had to pay for a beach in my life! what is that!
-Jellyfish; looks like someone else enjoys the warm waters too!
-Journey through the sand! Some beaches were so wide they had shuttles that would take you to the waters edge almost a mile away.

I had an awesome in New Jersey and would not mind going back.

Crater Lake has, by far, the best reflections I have ever seen. The water is an icy blue dappled with a mirror image of the clouds above. I sat on the edge of the lake for a long time just staring at it's raw beauty.

Bryce Canyon lays about two hour northeast of Zion National Park in Utah. I have included a panoramic view into Bryce Canyon. On a clear day, it is said that the view extends 100+ miles. The most amazing part of Bryce is the Hoodoos. The Hoodoos are created by thousands of years of erosion leaving pillars of rock standing from the earth. The second picture is a close up of the Hoodoos.

This park needs no introduction. Yosemite is gorgeous. I have yet to spend a good amount of time in the park but am eager to get back. There is a mystical aura surrounding Yosemite. It is one of those locations, like Disneyland, that you here about constantly while growing up. Unfortunately, like Disneyland, it is CROWDED in the summer. I was only able to spend a day in the park as the campgrounds had been booked for over six months. I am hoping to return soon during a less busy season to enjoy the wonders that once captivated Ansel Adams [and to climb Half Dome =) ]

I love clouds. I am not quite sure when this love was sparked but, to me, there is nothing better than a blue sky speckled with clouds. As I arrived at the Great Sand Dunes, the wind began to pick up and these gorgeous cloud quickly rolled in. I as it began to drizzle, I knew I had to set up camp before the rain came. I quickly snapped this shot, made dinner, and then bunkered down for the evening as the rain came down.

I had the opportunity to visit Saguaro National Park while making my way throughout the Southwest. I loved the deserts. A desert definitely get less credit in the beauty department as a general rule but a sunset over a vast desert is just as gorgeous as one over the ocean.

If you like waterfalls this is the place to be! While driving down the gorge there is an opportunity every couple miles to see a different type of waterfall, from a small gentle spring like below to the 620 foot Multnomah Falls.
